CALL TO ORDER
Bonnie Henriksen, Chair, called
the meeting to order.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Ron Oleheiser made a motion to
approve the minutes from the November 13, 2001
meeting, Marty Licke seconded; motion carried.
ANNUAL DINNER
Committee members reviewed the Annual Dinner
budget. Lodging for the entertainer was discussed;
committee members agree that lodging will be
provided at an economy motel and not at Ruttger’s
Sugar Lake Lodge.
Committee members reviewed and discussed the
number of tables, seating arrangement, and number
of seats per table; it was decided that there
would be eight seats to a table and that if
necessary, chairs could be added.
The schedule of events that is to be printed on
the invitations was reviewed and confirmed. The
social hour and opening of bids for the silent
auction would begin at 6:00 PM. Dinner will be
served at 7:00 PM with a short volunteer
recognition program from 7:45 to 8:00 PM. The
entertainer would perform at 8:00 PM, the band at
9:00 PM. The invitations are to be sent out on
January 3 or 4, with the RSVP deadline being set
as January 21. Participation will be by advance
registration/reservation only.
The progress being made on donations for the
silent auction was discussed. Marty Licke and Sue
Mattson agreed to facilitate the silent auction
the night of the Annual Dinner.
REACTION AND REVIEW OF DECEMBER
LUNCHEON PROGRAM
It was agreed that the December program
featuring John McCoy from UPM-Kymmene Forestry was
very informative and interesting, and was well
attended.
UPCOMING PROGRAMS
Committee members discussed a
number of the programs for the coming year:
February 4, Mark Johnson, Joe
Canella, and the coach for the biathlon team – Mt.
Itasca; March 4, Itasca Development Corporation -
recap of the Economic Summit; August, State of the
City – Sue Zeige; September or October, biologist
from the Ruffed Grouse Society.
Bonnie Henriksen will be
following up on the Mesabi Trail program that is
being considered for September.

The next meeting will be held at the Depot
Conference Room on Tuesday, January 8, 2001 at
8:30am.
