meeting, Debbie Bruns seconded; motion carried.
REACTION AND REVIEW OF MAY
LUNCHEON PROGRAM
Committee members discussed the
May program and agreed that it was incredibly fun,
and very successful.
Committee members discussed how
much the Reif Center contributed to the success of
the luncheon by not only sponsoring it, but also
paying the fee for Kevin Kling to appear; they
agreed that the Reif should be recognized in some
way, possibly in the newsletter, for their
efforts.
EGGS & ISSUES
Bud Stone shared that the
Government Affairs Committee will be sponsoring
another Eggs & Issues, featuring Gary Prokop, who
will be representing CARPP. The event is
tentatively scheduled for June 20. The Government
Affairs Committee outlined that the only Chamber
members will be invited to attend the event, and
absolutely no special interest groups will be
represented, and the topic will be confined to
discussion regarding the Rapids Power Project.
GOLF OUTING & FUN DAY
Karen Lindgren and Shannon Mann
volunteered to serve as the "prize committee" for
the Golf Outing & Fun Day. They will be supplied
with a list of past contributors.
REVIEW OF MISSION & GOALS
Committee members reviewed the
Mission & Goals that were set for 2002.
Committee members agreed that
the process for luncheon announcements is working
well.
Committee members discussed
possibly developing further guidelines and
procedures for selecting programs for the
luncheons. It was decided that developing criteria
and requiring proposals would be unnecessary.
Committee members also agreed that the Program
Committee should sponsor more educational
programs, seminars, and workshops.
EVENING NETWORKING
OPPORTUNITIES
Committee members discussed
beginning to plan evening networking
opportunities. Sherry Frick and Marla Beaty
volunteered to develop a "kick off" proposal to
present to the committee.
UPCOMING PROGRAMS / PROGRAM
BRAINSTORM
Committee members discussed the
"Be a Tourist in Your Own Town" event that is
sponsored by the Convention & Visitors Bureau, and
possibly having this event as the program for the
May 2003 luncheon. Sherry Frick will speak to the
various attractions that are normally involved in
this event.
Meeting adjourned.
NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be held
at the Depot Conference Room on Tuesday, June
11, 2002 at 8:30am.
