Bonnie Henriksen called the meeting to order at 8:20.

Approval of Minutes
Two changes and one clarification were made to the April 10, 2001, minutes prior to approving them:

The Program Committee made a motion at the April 10th meeting to have the Chamber co-sponsor the Continuing Education Program. Sherry motioned to approve this decision and Deb seconded; the committee agreed to pass the motion.

Deb Page indicated that she was present at last month's committee meeting.

Clarification concerning the formation of a sub-committee to acquire sponsors for this years golf outing was discussed. Bonnie explained that the sub-committee would be formed specifically to acquire prizes for the outing and not acquire hole sponsors.

Action: Marty motions to approve the minutes as amended and Sherry seconded; the committee passed the motion.

Upcoming Programs
June 4 - Riverfront Development - John Stockham, Smith Group - JJR - Bud is confirming Mr. Stockham's participation in the June's Luncheon. It was agreed to have a member of the Local Riverfront Development Task Force be prepared to speak as a back-up plan. 

July 19 - Chamber Golf Outing and Fun Day - See below.

August 6 - Bud confirmed Juan Lazo for the State of the City

September 10 - Education Topic/Chris Chandler

Oct 1 - Law Enforcement- Ron Oleheiser will get in contact with Pat Medure for the future.

Old Business
Chamber Golf Outing & Fun Day : Based on the RFPs received Eagle Ridge Golf Course was awarded the bid for this year's Golf Outing. Out of a possible three dates provided by Eagle Ridge, the committee selected July 19, 2001, as the date for this year's outing. Derek will confirm this date with Eagle Ridge and will ask if July 26th can be held for a "Rain Date." Derek will also have the schedule for the special events at the next meeting. The plan is to keep the same special events as last year. Each committee member reviewed last year's list of prize donators and signed up to contact those businesses again this year. Marla will email the United Way entities to see if they wish to participate. 

Minute Man Press expressed a definite interest in sponsoring a hole at this year's outing. They requested a Par 3 / 160 yard hole.

The registration flyer for the outing will go out in the June and July Newsletter.
The committee challenged Bud to recruit 144 golfers this year!

Other: Deb or Toni will contact Barb Mason to see if she wishes to continue on as a member the Program Committee. The overall opinion of the committee was they wanted her to continue.
