CALL TO ORDER
Bonnie Henriksen called the meeting to order.

The committee discussed their upcoming events.

APPROVAL OF AUGUST MINUTES
Sherry Frick made a motion to approve the minutes of the August 13th meeting. Marty Licke seconded the motion: motion passed.

CHAMBER AFTER 5:00
A flyer is out in the newsletter. Everything is running smoothly so far. Mediacom is excited to sponsor the event. Attendance should be really good. Bud reported that other businesses are interested as well.

Lynn will remind the Ambassadors that their attendance is mandatory.

ANNUAL DINNER REVISITED
This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce. This year's annual dinner should be special. Ideas were discussed.

The committee asked Bud to double-check the Charter date.

A subcommittee consisting of Lynn, Bonnie and David were formed to discuss ideas for the event.

The committee asked if there is a budget for commemoratives.

UPCOMING PROGRAMS / PROGRAMS BRAINSTORM
The list of upcoming luncheons was reviewed.

Lynn will confirm the economist with Steve Arbour.

The CVB will presenting, "Be a Tourist in Your Own Town" in May
Other suggestions were as follows:
" February - Jim Hoolihan: Jobs 2020
" Aug or Sept - School District Update (possible meet at the new Middle School)
" Riverfront Development
" Feb or March - Governor (send invitation)
" March - Mary Ellen: Local author of helpful hints
" Got a Problem, Get a Duck author

OTHER
The committee discussed possible workshops.

Joe Constance contacted Bud regarding his training firm in Marquette Michigan.

David reported that Donna Vennie and Mike Knapp are working on a 10 minute computerized profile-hiring tool that gives instant feedback. This is something that could be formulated into a workshop because it is helpful for hiring.

David also reported that a Brave New Workshop would be in town in January 2004.

Debbie suggested that the committee research the Disney Institute for a customer service workshop to supplement FISH Customer Service Training.

This discussion will be continued for the next meeting.

NEXT MEETING
The next Program Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 8th at 8:30 a.m.
